What to Expect from a James River Fishing Trip
Float the historic James River with our experienced guides to target trophy Smallmouth Bass on fly and conventional tackle. We concentrate on the areas from Bent Creek in Amherst to New Canton in Fluvanna along the middle James River. On the James River we look forward to casting poppers and topwater lures for trophy class Smallmouth Bass throughout the summer. Patience and good casting skills are the key elements for a successful day and our guides will work hard to improve your skills and ensure your success.
May-September – May and June can bring high water with better streamer fishing. The best topwater bug fishing comes later in the summer but poppers and topwater lures are effective most days.
